  This deli is fantastic! If you are staying at the Holiday Inn or any of the nearby hotels do yourself a favor and come here for breakfast or lunch.
  
  Super affordable, amazing pastries and breakfast sandwiches and really good coffee at great prices. We had the croissant and egg sandwhich every morning and it was fab. Just $3! The pastries are brought in every day and are fresh and delicious. Coffee is awesome (ten times better than the hotel's) and they also have bagels, croissants, egg dishes, deli sandwiches and the lunch choices looked amazing (stew, chicken, rice with granules, plantains etc)
  
  Everyone here is super friendly, hard working and very efficient. If you see a long line don't be discouraged they serve fast.
  
  Our family of four had a good breakfast every morning including snacks for later in the day for under $20 total. They have all kinds of snacks, food  and beverages too. We bought the gallon water to keep at our room and it was so much more cost effective than buying individual water bottles. There's an ATM inside but the most reasonable fee- just $1.75. They take cards for purchases $10 and over.
  
  If you are a tourist and never been in this part of NYC, don't be intimidated, try them once and you'll see how amazing the food is.

  With so many options in NYC, the true test of any shop is whether you'd want to go back. This place is definitely a place to return to.
  
  Got the beef stew over some rice. It was tender, juicy, and very flavorful. Very filling for $6.50.
  
  They also offer sandwiches, soda, beer, ice cream, and other packaged foods.
  
  I passed by during two off hours (3~4PM) and there was no hot food bar.

  This was a conveniently located bodega in a residential and business area just steps away from one of the places we stayed in Long Island City. We would come in the evening to grab some snacks and beverages to bring up to the room, and even tried food from the hot bar in the back.
  
  I ordered the Carne Guisada with rice and a Pastelito (I think). Though I got the smallest portion, it was packed in. There's a definite homemade, comfort feel to the food and the price was affordable so I can see this place getting busy for lunch or dinner if you don't mind taking it to go.
  
  This was probably my first time eating Dominican food so I wish I had something to compare it to, and also wish that I still had the stomach of a 20-year-old. The staff were nice, so hopefully when I'm back in the area I'll give it another go. 3.5 stars.

  Authentically Dominican home-cooked food. Reminds me of the meals my in-laws used to make me: mondongo soup, sancocho soup, pastelitos, pernil, carne guisada, morro, rice, beans - it's actually an infinite amount of delicious, traditional, Dominican food. I think my favorite thing about this, is that from the outside this is a bodega but in the back, there's a slammin' restaurant with cheap food. I'm actually kind of upset with my coworkers for not bringing me here sooner!
  
  The people who work here are soooooo friendly. I wanted more broth and less meat in my soup today and the guy who served it up made a good effort to do that for me. For $4.25 I got an ample amount of sancocho soup and 1 pastelito (the empanada looking one). Their prices are so cheap! The line was pretty long when we arrived, but they move people in and out very quickly.
  
  It's not a sit down lunch/dinner place. It's an order-at-the-window-pay-and-leave place, but if you just want to pick up a satisfying and delicious lunch, for well under $10, this is your spot.

  Food was good, prices were decent. Here for a few days so will definitely be trying out the deli very soon. Looked good and fresh from a glance, huge avocados near the checkout were a plus ....
